One of the most challenging images I\'ve ever created, depicting a crescent moon moving through space. Photographed from my garden here in south Wales, this image combines hundreds of images of a crescent moon at 600mm, f/6.3, and a variety of exposure times ranging from 1/20s to 1/200s, and ISO values from 200 to 12800, grouping together frames with matching settings and stacked to reduce noise. The resulting image was overlaid with a full moon image with a closely matched tilt. Finally this was composited with a star trail image from an area of sky without the moon, captured at 75mm and cropped to represent a 600mm-equivalent frame.
I\'ve published a short article on my website describing exactly how this image was made: https://www.mathewbrowne.co.uk/how-to-create-an-hdr-moon-composite-using-photoshop/
- The rating of photographers by countries and cities is based on the three best photos of the author and their relative position in each separate nomination. Rating in the nomination "Mobile Photography" is taken into account to a lesser extent for rating formation. The list by country and city shows one photo of the author with the best rating.
- Only those photos have been published in the list that passed the second stage of voting.
