This audacious and majestic structure, the Oculus, rose from the ashes of the World Trade Center's twin towers and was designed by famous architect Calatrava. This “eye” opens every September 11th, to honor the people who died, victims of the abominable terrorist act that took place on that same date in 2001.
But, its shape reminds me of a big bird on its way to freedom.
