The lonely chair
I am here,
here where you left me, and motionless I await your return, yours and
that of a time that no longer exists.
Wait.
Time froze in that last moment when you turned around and walked away.
Who cares?
I’m just a chair,
a little witness to the passage of the sands of time, which slowly cover me,
that sometimes some curious traveler takes me off and sits on me.
And I wait with him,
I hear him reflect and think, in this temporal limbo in which I have remained,
and in a certain sense, those who sit on me leave me a memory,
a trace of themselves in the sands of time …
But what does it matter?
I’m just a lonely chair .
