Sharing is Caring
At the Tal Chhapar grassland I came across this pair of Laggar falcons. I approached slowly to the tree where they were perched. All on a sudden the male falcon took off and flew to a little distance. I saw him nosediving into a sand mount and then lifting off with something in his talons. He then circled back and landed in the tree where the female was waiting. I could see the carcass of an Indian Desert Jird, firmly held in his deadly talons. He then offered the carcass to the female, who promptly accepted the share from him.
