Sudan's El Molih's Camel Market
At this camel market in El-Molih, a vast desert about 100 kilometers (63 miles) from the Sudanese capital, hundreds of camels are sold and loaded onto trucks without any care every day waiting to make their journey through from the desert to Egypt or the Red Sea to be shipped to Saudi Arabia.
Sudan is one of the largest camel exporters in the world, and has the second largest number of camels in the world. Intended for both the world of high-end racing in the Arabian Gulf and the meat markets of Cairo, these animals are bought and sold at the El Molih market on the outskirts of Khartoum twice a week.
In the photograph you can see how the camels scream, suffer and fight to flee uselessly as they are tied.
