Offering to the Gods

Countless small, wooden cradles tied along a fence in a Hindu temple, by childless couples. These cradles and the colorful pieces of cloth are tied as offerings to God, by couples praying to be blessed with a child. This photograph was taken in Koneshwaram, a popular Hindu temple in Trincomalee, Sri Lanka.
