The Indian grey mongoose (Herpestes edwardsi) is a mongoose species native to the Indian subcontinent and West Asia. It is listed as Least Concern on the IUCN Red List. The grey mongoose inhabits open forests, scrublands and cultivated fields, often close to human habitation. It lives in burrows, hedgerows and thickets, among groves of trees, and takes shelter under rocks or bushes and even in drains. This photo was taken on the mating season of this magnificent creatures. When Grey mongoose and Ruddy mongoose mating (very rare situation) if any white gray cub born it call White mongoose. It is very rare situation, because of that people think it’s a myth. Then it became the king of the pack.
