A resident watches a lava river flow past his property broadcasting the view on facebook live as a full moon rises. Of all my volcano images for me this one encapsulates the mood, atmosphere and duality of living in a natural war zone. It was surreal, breathtaking, mesmerising and beautiful yet dangerous and devastating. The stress on everyone caused shock and denial alongside nervous humour and numb resignation.
