I was expecting some great light at sunrise in Emerald Lake, Yoho NP, BC, Canada. Once it didn't come I had to work hard on the reflection and composition.

The magic hour

Some moments are just like magic for photographers, and remain recorded on ther memories far beyond their pictures. This was a very special day for me. When the first golden light beams touched the top of the Fitz Roy, Mountain, in Patagônia, there was a huge contrast with the blue, cold-like atmosphere of the whole rest of the scene. It was something surreal and hypnotic for the lucky viewers.

Water Rush

A tradition in the Belo Horizonte carnival are the trucks pumping water over the heated headed crowds in the streets. The tradition came from a political stance over a dispute with the local government for the liberation of public squares to held festivals and other public cultural events. At Central Station Square, there are fountains that were shut when the masses came to protest over the prohibition with a beach party at the square in a town where there's no beaches. So they hired one of these trucks to have some water over their heads and enjoy themselves, showing the government who ruled over who.
