The situation of the emission points around the main crater of the unnamed La Palma volcano was highly dynamic. This is a picture taken on Sunday 3 October, day 15 of the eruption, a few minutes after the partial collapse of the main crater that generated a copious pouring of magma toward the valley. The collapsed part of the cone is clearly visible in the photo. It looks like that part of the fragmented wall had fallen into the crater itself, partially obstructing the main emission point, bringing out two clear fountains of gases and magma. The eruption began at 14:12 UTC on 19 September 2021 in the area of Cabeza de Vaca on Montaña Rajada (Las Manchas, municipality of El Paso) with a fissure of about 200 meters on the western side of the main volcano Cumbre Vieja.
