A Blue Eared Kingfisher perched gracefully on a small branch above a tiny pond filled with fish. I waited patiently for the right moment, knowing how quick and elusive this species can be. After many attempts, I finally captured the perfect freeze just as it caught its prey. The bird’s speed and the short distance between the branch and pond made this shot a real challenge. I noticed an interesting behavior: before taking off, it gives two short calls and moves its head three to four times, almost like a focus routine. After the dive and successful catch, it returned to the branch, then moved to a front perch to enjoy its well-earned meal.
