Longji Rice Terraces
Longji (Dragon Backbone) Rice Terraces in Ping'an Zhuang Village, located in Longsheng County, about 80 km from Guilin, Guanxi province, China. The construction of the terraces which now represent an incredible engineering phenomenon began in the XIII century when Zhuang and Yao minority people moved to Guanxi. Now, the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces cover an area of 66 square kilometers and span an altitude between 300 meters and 1,100 meters. Among them two main areas are the Ping’an Zhuan Village Terreced Fields and Jinkeng Terracd fields where Zhuang and Yao Minority people have been living respectively.
