Viewpoint : Racism and hate ( Awarness campaign )
This is a series of photos for an awareness campaign, a project against hate speech and racism.
The magnifier is pointed toward a symbol, clothing, hairstyle, or skin color which “represents” that nation, race, or religion and which is commonly used to insult those groups as example
we have a Muslim man with a beard who is always labeled as a radical, terrorist and most of the time refused to be employed for that. We have also a woman in niqabs who face
the same injustice and because of their religious views on wearing the niqab are called ninjas, ghosts, left behind in times, neanderthals, and other not pleasing names. They also
face injustice when finding jobs and education. A huge number of Muslims are Arabs also so they face also racist because of their origins.
Black men and women are most of the time labeled as criminals, savages, and drug addicts, especially in the USA.
Jews are commonly attacked by skinheads and nazi supporters, the main target of their insults is their way of dressing, their curls, and caps, and commonly also called for having a big
nose and they take them as an inferior race. Hindus are also often a target of racist and hateful people, especially in the UK and USA, where they are called dirty. gypsy etc... Also one of
the reasons is their skin color, their tradition, and religion.
So having all this information I decided to make a set of 5 photographs which will include 5 people that each represent one of those groups under constant hate and racism attacks.
through the magnifier, I will show the viewpoint of a hater and racist, and the reality will be in black and white showing that way that they don't focus on who those people really are but
are just trying to find something to push on with their hate.
