Children play among hundreds of giant hat-shaped bamboo cones in a rice field in Brahmanbaria, Bangladesh. This is a traditional method of keeping freshly collected rice protected from rain and fog after the removal of moisture. The dried rice is piled into cone-shaped mounds so that it fits under the cones. The rice mill worker start their work very early in the morning from 5 am and work till 2 pm every day. After that, the Children of the workers play their afternoon games.
It was 21st September 2023, later part of the rainy season in Dhaka, capital city of Bangladesh. That day heavy rain started in the afternoon and continued until midnight. Most of the roads in the city was effected by flash flood and almost all people who were returning home from work were stuck until mid-night due to flooded roads.
These pictures were shot between 10.30 pm and 11.30 pm while people are returning home facing rains and flooded roads. These pictures reflects the typical rainy season in Dhaka.
I'm a Dhaka-based street photographer. I took this photo at Mirpur, Dhaka. I had to wait for almost two hours to be able to find someone running through the stairs. When I first saw the frame, I saw it empty. Then I had it in my mind what if someone runs though it?
So I waited 15 minutes, no one came. Then I waited for another 15 minutes. Still, no one came. Thus, my hunger for taking the photo with a subject just got motivated. And I had to wait till anyone came.
The staple food of Tribal people in Chittagong Hill Tracts, Bangladesh is rice. The rice commonly found here does not undergo any mechanical processing. It is husked from fresh paddy to separate the rice from the hull. Most of the Tribal people in Chittagong Hill Tracts farmers do the husking manually and it is done with the help of mortar and pestle method.

After the World Ijtema, people are going home by train. Passengers are traveling on the engine of the train as the pressure is high but a railway police officer is requesting everyone to get down from the engine.
Sunamganj in Sylhet is a beautiful place in Bangladesh. During my last visit, I saw children playing happily in front of the 'Shimul' flower garden. I also witnessed a raw happiness in their eyes and faces. Their joy reminded me of the happy times my own childhood.
