Khartoum_Sudan_coup d'étatismes
On Monday 25 October, 2021, Sudan woke up into a day which, once again, changed the course of the country’s history. Military coup, unexpected by anyone but its architects, provoked large protests in Khartoum. People chanted „madania“ (civil rule) and required free elections which were planned for 2023. Generals did not hesitate to use force, resulting in hundreds of wounded and dead. Two months later, the situation remains unstable, strikes and smoldering barricades are the everyday reality now. A new generation of Sudanese grows up fighting yet another revolution, just as older generations did in many previous revolutions and coups since 1956.
