This photo was taken during the Holi in Nandagaon. Before going to more details I will explain a bit about the story behind Lathmar Holi.
Lord Krishna was born in Mathura, he grow up in Nandagaon and Radha from Barsana. Young Krishna was a very mischievous child. Being very dark himself, he was envious of Radha’s fair complexion. Once Krishna asked his mother Yasodha about the unjustness of nature, Radha was so fair and he was dark. Child Krishna began to cry as he asked this. To calm him down, Yashoda told him to go and smear Radha’s face with any color he wished. Young Krishna and his friends, at once, heed to what Yashoda advised. Naughtily, he and friends applied colors onto Radha's and her friends face in order to make it look like him. And Radha and gopikas hit them with stick.
The Indian traditional art forms wonderfully record and pay tribute to this legend and so was born lathmar holi.
And to achieve this photograph, we reached the temple in Nandagaon at 9 am and found a place to sit and from that time until the function finished we never leave our seat because of the fear of lost that place. That says from 9 am until 6.30 pm we sat in the same place and we leave that place after we finished our all photo shoots. Long 9 hours we sat on the same place and when I saw the photos in my computer screen it reminds me all that rush, struggle and real madness with color and water.
