Fire Blessing
Bhutan has many unique culture and one such is a fire blessing known as 'maewang' in local term. This was taken outside Thangbi Monastery in Bumthang, a temple initially blessed by Tibetan Lama, 4th Shamar Rinpoche in 14th century. Unlike other monasteries Thangbi is only the one that lits fire during the day. It is believed that upon receiving a fire blessing, one's negative deeds are cleansed while some even belief of good fortune for the coming year. This year Thangbi witnessed many tourist besides huge crowd of local people.
