Patience at The Arch - Tyulenovo, Bulgaria
I knew before I arrived here that I wanted to shoot this arch, I guess everyone does.
It was a vacation we took for my birthday, but I knew from the previous evening scouting and shooting I had to see this place at sunrise. Now, I don't have filters to make controlling the light easier! We had to get up at 5am on the the morning of my birthday and walk to these rocks in the dark, only a hiking light leading the way. Setting up was tough, it was pretty much black dark still, but I knew once that light started to rise my time was limited.
I think in this shot I captured what I had always imagined I had wanted to since seeing this place, The crashing water turned calm, coupled with the sky painted by the sunrise streaming with clouds racing over the sea, and the harsh rocks left beautiful with the first light of the morning as the sun rose from the Black Sea.
