Medical Emergency Evacuation in remote PNG
Nearly all rural village in Papua New Guinea lacks proper first level health facilities and even medical drugs supply, staff and equipment, to manage obstetrics and gynaecology cases. Therefore village men and women carry sick mothers on makeshift stretchers through thick jungle looking for the nearest health facility that can help. Pictured is a mother with retained placenta, who was fortunate to be airlifted from the middle of the bush, somewhere in Finschhafen. The medivac was done by Manolos Aviation Ltd.
