Warrior of the Asante kingdom of Ghana

Before the westernisation, Africans had their own system of governance and in it were those whose duty it was to protect the kings and queens as well as the people. This is a depiction of a true Ashanti warrior. The picture was taken at a ceremony marking the funeral rites of the former queen mother of the Asante kingdom.
