The KT12 is located about a mile from the coast, in front of the beach of Orosei, Sardinia, resting on a backdrop of 34 meters. German military cargo ship, armed, used to transport provisions, vehicles and fuel to North Africa. On his first trip, on 10 June 1943 he was attacked by the English submarine Safari and a torpedo struck him in the bow, detaching it cleanly. The bow sank immediately, while the burned ship drifted for 40 minutes before sinking in turn. Many were the dead and the wounded, who were helped by the people of Orosei.
