Al-Tabseel Season: Where Family and Heritage Come Together
Every summer, the Wilayats of Bidiyah and Al Qabil in North Al Sharqiyah Governorate, Sultanate of Oman, welcome Al-Tabseel Season, one of the country\'s most cherished traditional agricultural events. Families gather around the date palms to prepare Al-Mabsali, a traditional preserved date product, in a process that reflects generations of shared knowledge, cooperation, and cultural identity.
The journey begins with harvesting the date clusters, followed by boiling, sun-drying, sorting, and storing the dates for year-round use. Throughout every stage, family members work side by side. Children enthusiastically participate alongside their parents and grandparents, learning traditional skills through hands-on experience while strengthening their connection to Oman\'s agricultural heritage.
More than a farming activity, Al-Tabseel is a living cultural tradition that reinforces family bonds and instills values of teamwork, responsibility, respect for the land, and appreciation for the blessings of nature. The laughter of children fills the farms, turning days of hard work into joyful family memories.
