Malabar Flying Lizard
The Malabar Flying Lizard, also known as the Southern Flying Lizard, is a species of lizard in the family Agamidae. It is primarily found in the Western Ghats and some other hill forests of Southern India. This lizard is almost completely arboreal, climbing trees to forage for insects and gliding to adjoining trees using its patagium, which is loose skin on the sides of the body supported by elongated ribs. The Malabar Flying Lizard is brown with patches of grey that match the pattern of tree bark and can change its color to a limited extent. As an adult, it has a total length of about 23 cm (9.1 in), with a snout-to-vent length of about 7–9 cm (2.8–3.5 in) and a tail length of 10–13 cm (3.9–5.1 in).
