The past few days in Fuerteventura had seen truly variable weather; a storm coming in from the ocean was closer, and the rain was becoming more frequent and heavier. The wind, ever-present, was stronger than usual.
In the area where we were staying, I had spotted a solitary little church - later found out it was a hermitage. There hadn’t been time for a preliminary daytime inspection, so I went there directly in the evening—fortunately without encountering any unpleasant surprises that might have spoiled the landscape.
Before reclaiming the sky, and thanks to the long exposures, the clouds took on a distinctive shape, like a phoenix with its wings spread wide.
