The Kasada Festival is an annual ritual of the Tenggerese people at Mount Bromo, East Java. Held during the 14th month of the Tenggerese calendar, it is a sacred offering ceremony where locals trek up the volcanic slopes to throw offerings—such as crops, livestock, and other gifts—into the crater of Mount Bromo. This tradition honours their ancestors and seeks blessings from the gods for prosperity and protection. Despite the dangers, some brave villagers attempt to catch the falling offerings, believing it will bring them good fortune.
