Kalariyapattu originally comes from the Sanskrit word \'Khalurika\', meaning \'battlefield\' or \'threshing floor\' or \'military training ground\'. \' The earliest evidence found in a palm leaf manuscript which had been written around 200 BC, depicts the fighting technique of martial arts. Possibly this form of art is older than the earliest available evidence and that is the reason, it is called \"Mother of Martial-Arts\" Till now, various martial art groups are carrying forward the prestigious heritage of this oldest form of martial art. A group of people from Kerala are enthusiastically displaying the various forms of
Kalaripayattu to the world and thus, earning their livelihood. They usually conduct their shows on a daily basis at their theater and spread this ancient Indian culture in front of the audience.
