Travelers Category: Guidelines and Requirements
Travel is a conscious action requiring effort, gear, and engagement. It is not a static presence in the frame, but a dynamic process of overcoming challenges and exploration.
We are looking for works where a person or group are the undisputed heroes. The main requirement: it must be unmistakably clear from the photograph that people are on an active journey, not just taking a casual walk. The focus is on action (climbing, paddling, hiking with a load) and specialized equipment that confirms the expedition format.
Accepted:
- Shots where travelers are the visual dominant and actively interact with the environment
- Photographs demonstrating the use of specialized trekking gear (backpacks, ropes, paddles, ice axes, etc.)
- Stories conveying the atmosphere of the journey, fatigue, concentration, or the joy of overcoming obstacles
Not accepted:
- People simply walking around a city, park, beach, or paved embankments without signs of active tourism
- Passersby or figures in the background who accidentally entered the frame and are not the semantic center of the composition
- Static landscapes where a person serves only as a scale reference, without visible action or travel context
- "All-inclusive" beach vacations without elements of exploration or sports tourism
