Pico de la Cruz in La Palma is one of the highest peaks, standing at 2354 meters, offering a beautiful view of the volcanic caldera. Fortunately, we set out from our accommodation in time, so we were able to witness the sunset. A short but steep rocky path leads to the viewpoint, which I had to tackle with a heavier backpack than usual, as I planned to create a timelapse. After setting up the tripod for the timelapse, I headed towards the summit, where this picture was taken, and waited for complete darkness to set in. I was very careful to always arrive at the locations on time, as in autumn, the Milky Way gradually moves lower in the sky after sunset. I managed to take the pictures relatively quickly, but the timelapse still needed time, so we spent about 2 more hours on the mountain, where the wind was incredibly strong at certain points. However, we eventually found a sheltered spot to weather the rest of the evening.
