\"It\'s only 8-10 years that I have been working in the Chomrong ABC Check Post, Chomrong. Are you seeing those two mountains behind me? It was then covered with layers of snow, and only in this short time, they have turned into mountains fully covered with trees and stones. Climate change is not only Nepal\'s issue, but it\'s a global problem affecting the Himalayas by decreasing the layers of snow. In the ABC range, you may still find some snow, but it\'s significantly less than what it used to be years ago. We all need to seriously think about it; otherwise, I am worrying that after 10-15 years, people who visit here will come just to see mountains without the pristine snow-covered Himalayan landscapes we once had\"
(A bitter truth shared by a local official from Chomrong ABC Check Post, Chomrong)
Perhaps from the year 1988 AD, the Climate Change & Global Warming became increasingly prominent for the international public debate and political agenda, a concern that continues to this day. Unfortunately, instead of finding effective solutions, these issues have been rising year by year, turning into a pressing global agenda that demands our attention. While many tend to blame nature for these challenges, the harsh reality is that they are largely human induced result. Our relentless pursuit of technological advancements, aimed at providing a more comfortable life, has inadvertently led to the degradation of our environment, directly impacting people\'s daily lives.
Despite the numerous technological innovations and medical facilities available for better treatment, we witness a reduction in human life expectancy. The root cause of these challenges remains unresolved, and there is a growing concern that it may never be adequately addressed on a global scale. I worry about the future, fearing that without collective action, the issues we face will persist and potentially worsen.
In the face of this predicament, there are simple yet impactful steps we can take. Initiatives like \"Tree Plantation\" can contribute significantly to combating climate change, while minimizing the use of man-made innovations that produce harmful gases is another crucial measure.
The image captured during my last ABC circuit may showcase a beautiful landscape, but the responsibility to maintain its charm for the years to come lies in our hands. It\'s time for us to reflect on our actions and collectively work towards a sustainable and harmonious coexistence with nature.
