Nowadays Iceland is becoming a bit too popular among tourists and photographers alike. All of these big and beautiful waterfalls as well as other famous places have been photographed far too many times over the years.
This waterfall is the famous Skogafoss - a place I first visited when I was starting a trek in the Icelandic highlands. The number of tourists in front of the falls at that time scared me so fast that I couldn't even enjoy it. A month later I ended up again there simply by chance as I was hitchhiking towards another destination and it got too dark to continue...
Truth is I have never intended to photograph this waterfall for the reason pointed above... BUT when I woke up early in the morning and was the only person out there, facing this huge white mass of water... well this time it got me. I loaded my camera on a tripod, set the timer and ran as fast as I could to get as further away as possible and try to show at least a tiny bit of the glory of this spectacular waterfall. In the end I understood why photographers still photograph this place over and over again - it just pulls you in...

The galaxy
In less than a hundred years, we have found a new way to think of ourselves. From sitting at the center of the universe, we now find ourselves orbiting an average-sized sun, which is just one of millions of stars in our own Milky Way galaxy.

Pride and Beauty
The half-savage peafowls live in the Czech capital’s historic centre in harmony with people around. Worth following! – there are some other European capitals where the same creatures should be tortured (even killed) with no compunction.
