“When I woke up everything was blue. I felt how something was caressing my face, but as I got up, its touch faded away. I felt like I was floating for a moment, but not enough for my feet to come off the floor that made me tingle.
I tried to look at my hands but they were numb, I could barely swing them as they fell to my sides. I could hear the crash of the waves in the distance, but was not afraid.
As I released my body into the water I began to see clouds. They moved like shoals, I could almost hear them sing. They reminded me of the cotton candy that I loved to eat in August.
I heard my name being called by myself from above. I pulled my neck back and caught a glimpse of myself swimming-dead when I was 8 years old.
I blinked and the waves broke my vision, causing some rocks to start falling. The rocks that Chiquín left did not sink to the bottom, they floated, danced on top of me like a special spectacle.
The tingling that used to be in my feet began to creep up my legs. Some starfish were shining and seemed to want to adhere to my body.
If I could stay and show her…
I really wanted to cry.
It's easier down here.
I sighed.”
