Roque Nublo is a monument composed of volcanic rock located in the centre of the island of Gran Canaria.
It rises 80 m at its base and 1803 m above sea level and was formerly used as a place of worship by the Canarian aborigines. I had to go twice to the place, which looks like the surface of Mars, before I could take a night photograph because of the calima, a hot wind that carries Saharan dust and sand, which made the sky covered with a strong haze for several days. So when I found a good day I returned to this fantastic place and had to include in the shot the crescent moon now present in the sky. This is a 360 degree panorama of the place, taken on 15 July, with crescent moon and galactic arc.
