These are the lesser Golden Flameback Woodpeckers shot in Shimoga,Karnataka, India on a rainy day. As I had been to this place for a small function, saw a huge tree with no leaves and was wondering what if I sight birds here. As I take my camera everywhere, I sat with my gears in front of the tree and kept on waiting for birds to come. I had the feeling that they would come. And after 3 hours of waiting, these beauties arrived from nowhere and started searching for worms and I was thrilled and took tons of photos as it was there for a long time and gave good photo opportunities. Truly this was really special!
