A kashmiri muslim recites Quran during the holy month of ramadan at Khankah-e-Moula masjid(mosque) in Srinagar, Indian restrained Kashmir.
Khanqah-e-Moula, also known as Shah-e-Hamadan Masjid and Khanqah mosque and first historical masjid in kashmir and this place are known as where sayyid Ali Hamadani start the preaching of Islam in kashmir.It is located in the Old City on the right bank of the river Jhelum between the Fateh Kadal and Zaina Kadal bridges. First built in 1395 AD, it is the first oldest mosques in the Kashmir Valley.It is one of the best examples of Kashmiri wooden architecture,decorated with papier mache.
Millions of muslims around the world will be fasting everyday for a month, refraining from eating, drinking and smoking from sunrise to sunset.It is a month that teaches self-discipline and awareness for those living in poverty.
