This photograph was taken on Shipka Peak, at 1150 meters altitude, at the Freedom Monument - one of the most important symbols of Bulgarian history. The monument was built in 1934 in memory of the Bulgarian volunteers and Russian soldiers who defended Shipka Pass during the Russo-Turkish War of 1877-1878.
I shot from a low angle to emphasize the monument\'s height and strength. The bronze lion on the top guards the tower, facing north. On the stone facade you can read \"Sheynovo\" - the place of the final decisive battle, and on the other side \"To the Fighters for Freedom\".
The day was cold and windy, with fast-moving clouds and clear blue sky. Shot with Canon EOS 250D and EF-S 18-55mm at 35mm, f/8, 1/640s, ISO 100, RAW. Minimal processing in Lightroom - lens correction, straightening of verticals, Daylight white balance. No cloning, no sky replacement. Single frame.
