Against a background so dark it swallows everything else, she holds perfectly still, gazing straight into the lens with an expression that\'s equal parts patience and quiet appraisal.

I remember trying not to move a muscle while shooting this. Any sudden gesture and she\'d have looked away, chasing a shadow or a sound I couldn\'t hear. Instead, she held that gaze just long enough — amber eyes catching the only light in the frame, the faint ginger patch on her forehead like a brushstroke of warmth against all that white and black.
