On a cloudy evening, in the approaching twilight, the shores of Lake Baikal appear especially mysterious. Snow-capped mountain peaks and low cumulus clouds are reflected in the smooth waters of the coastal lakes and bays, and the light breeze sometimes calms completely, leaving the surface of the water undisturbed. Strange driftwood lies along the shores, and fog creeping in from behind the cape adds a mystical touch to the scene.
