This photographic series presents a collection of intimate portraits of everyday Iraqis, made across public spaces and moments of daily life. Rather than focusing on conflict or political narratives, the work centres on individuals as they choose to present themselves, offering a quiet counterpoint to the ways Iraq is often visually represented.

Each portrait was made with consent and conversation, allowing space for dignity, agency, and presence. The subjects include people encountered in streets, markets, workplaces, and moments of pause, reflecting the diversity and complexity of contemporary Iraqi life.
