Child of the Stars

Photographed in Munnar, Western Ghats (June 2025), this image features the elusive Galaxy Frog (Melanobatrachus indicus), its star-like markings glowing against the forest floor. Endemic to the Western Ghats, one of the world’s richest biodiversity hotspots, the frog represents the region’s remarkable evolutionary isolation. Encountering this rare amphibian is a reminder of the fragile, hidden worlds that survive only within these ancient rain-soaked mountains.
