Motorsport Photography Contest: Capture Speed, Emotion, and Action
Motorsport and motorcycle racing are far more than just races—they are a symphony of speed, precision, and adrenaline, where human and machine merge into a single entity. This is a world where fractions of a second decide everything, and risk isn’t a threat but the very language spoken by true drivers and riders. From Formula circuit battles to dusty rally-raid tracks, from drifting at the edge of traction to motocross launches kicking up clouds of earth—every turn, every acceleration, every slide tells a story of courage, skill, and passion.
The photographer’s task is not merely to capture speed, but to convey its sensation. To seize the moment when a pilot’s gaze through the visor brims with focus and determination. To notice the spark in a mechanic’s eyes as they give the final signal before the start. To express the tension in the air the instant wheels lose contact with the ground—or when tire smoke becomes part of the composition. Achieving this requires not only technical mastery and shutter control, but also intuition, a feel for the rhythm of the race, and the ability to be present exactly where emotion is born.
Accepted:
- Photos taken at motorsport or motorcycle racing events of any level—from local club meets and amateur races to international championships and Grand Prix
- Images conveying motion, dynamism, raw power of vehicles, and the atmosphere of the track—everything that makes motorsport and motorcycle racing a living art of speed and control
Not accepted:
- Images without people: empty tracks, cars or motorcycles shown without action context, static “portraits” of machinery lacking any indication of participation in a sporting event
