Photo Contest: Ruins and Abandoned Places
Ruins and abandoned places are frozen time: architecture left behind by people, spaces where nature and decay become co-authors of the frame. For a photographer, this is primarily work with atmosphere — you need to see history in the cracks of walls, geometry in collapsed floors, poetry in emptiness.
We are looking for shots where abandonment is the main character. Not just an old house on the street, but a place with character, where the past is readable and silence is palpable. It's important not just to "find and shoot," but to comprehend the space: build composition, use light and shadow, find minimalist forms in the chaos of destruction.
Accepted:
- Abandoned buildings and industrial objects with emphasis on geometry and textures
- Atmosphere of desolation in interiors, exteriors and underground spaces of public buildings
- Different shooting scales: from general landscapes to focus on individual architectural objects
Not accepted:
- Close-ups of individual architectural details (doors, windows, railings) and monuments filling the entire frame, as well as interiors of private spaces
- Staged scenes with models, as well as digital effects imitating destruction or aging
