About
A rural landscape carries a distinct visual code where architecture, terrain, and light merge into an organic whole. The "Village Landscape" contest invites photographers capable of capturing this cohesive environment.
We are looking for images where the rural setting is immediately recognizable: traditional housing, farm outbuildings, unpaved roads, fields, or orchards coming together to form a distinct sense of place. Submissions shot at any time of day are welcome — from dawn to deep night — with an emphasis on precise exposure and masterful handling of atmosphere.
The primary criterion is immediate visual recognition: the viewer should instantly identify the scene as a village or rural settlement, rather than a suburban area or an abstract natural landscape.
Accepted:
- Images shot at any time of day, where light, weather, and spatial depth emphasize the authenticity of the landscape
- Frames featuring people or machinery, provided they are naturally integrated into the environment and do not shift the compositional focus away from the landscape
Not accepted:
- Fragmentary or close-up shots (isolated fences, windows, household items) that fail to convey the scale and typology of the rural landscape
