Underwater Life Photo Contest Guidelines and Rules
Underwater photography captures unique moments, expanding our knowledge of aquatic fauna and revealing unconventional perspectives. Shooting in water is technically demanding, requiring specialized equipment and a high level of responsibility. This category values images captured in natural environments where water actively shapes the light, color, and mood of the frame.
Submissions should feature marine and freshwater species in their natural habitats, with an emphasis on natural behavior and interspecies interaction. Artificial lighting is permitted provided it does not disturb the wildlife and the images show no signs of excessive digital manipulation. Ethical practices are paramount: frames must not show any signs of animal distress, baiting, or habitat disruption.
Accepted:
- Photographs of marine and freshwater species in their natural environment
Not accepted:
- Images taken in oceanariums, aquariums, or any artificial environments
- Photographs of aquatic subjects taken on land or out of water
