Mobile Photography Contest: Shadows – 35AWARDS
Shadow is a fundamental element of photography, influencing the perception of volume, form, and depth within the frame. Proper use of shadow areas allows for constructing composition, directing viewer attention, and conveying material texture. The contest focuses on the technical and creative aspects of mobile photography: working with dynamic range, exposure, and natural lighting. We expect works demonstrating a deliberate interaction of light and shadow, whether through hard contrast, soft transitions, or silhouettes.
Accepted:
- Photographs taken exclusively on mobile devices (smartphones, tablets)
- Frames where shadow is a key compositional element: forms rhythm, contrast, volume, or serves as the main subject
- Any genre: Street photography, portrait, architecture, abstraction, landscape, reportage, etc.
Not Accepted:
- Shots made on professional photo equipment (DSLR, mirrorless cameras, medium format)
- Frames where shadow is present accidentally and carries no compositional load
