Иридиум - оператор спутниковой связи, актуальный там, где нет вышек мобильных операторов. Антенны спутников Иридиум, отражая солнечный свет, чертят яркую полоску на небе — плавно разгораясь и угасая. Поэтому такие видимые пролеты спутников назвали вспышками.
Вспышки бывают разной мощности и длительности, чем ярче вспыхивает - тем быстрее гаснет. Эта длилась около 40 секунд, и звезды успели превратиться в небольшие треки.
Сейчас первое поколение спутников Иридиум заменяется новыми, которые уже не будут вспыхивать.

Iridium flare
Iridium is a satellite communication operator, relevant where there are no mobile operator towers. Aerials of iridium satellites, reflecting sunlight, draw a bright strip in the sky — smoothly flaring up and fading. Therefore, such visible satellite overflights called flares.
Flash are of different capacity and duration, the brighter flashes - the faster it goes out. This one lasted about 40 seconds, and the stars managed to turn into small tracks.
Now the first generation of iridium satellites is being replaced by new ones, which will no longer flash.
