Shot on iPhone 13 Pro Max. This fine-art self-portrait explores the complex psychological and social landscapes of womanhood. Acting as both the photographer and the subject, I used a sheer, domestic curtain not just as a physical divider, but as a symbol of the subtle, internalized preconceptions imposed by society, family, and history.
While the concrete walls of absolute restriction have been broken down, they are replaced by this thin, domestic grid that still filters the truth. One side of my face receives the direct, bright light, yet even the completely exposed eye is forced to look at reality through the lingering expectations of the veil. In this quiet demeanor, a deep sorrow coexists with an unyielding courage and persistence. The image captures that exact threshold: a woman who sees the light and refuses to look away, even while negotiating the filters that still try to dim her full perception.
