Tarpana is a term in the Vedic practice which refers to an offering made to divine entities. It is believed that one’s ancestors will be eagerly awaiting for tarpana on all the above-mentioned occasions. If no offering is made, they will return to their places disappointed, and the descendant misses their blessings which he would have received, if he had performed his filial duties. The Hindu community strongly believes in carrying out these rituals on the auspicious day of Mahalaya.

This image is one of the photographs from my photo story 'the home project'. Women empowerment is essential both to improve a home and the society. Suppression and violation against women is common in our society. But it is the natural right to freedom of women to live the way they wish.
It was a sunny morning in Kolkata. I came across this place with beautiful & exquisite background combining golden light, shadow & smoke. I prepared my camera & positioned myself for the entrance of right character to complete the scene. I took few snaps but did not meet my expectation. After a brief wait finally I found this right composition among this three characters due to their dress colour and I push the shutter when I found them on right position.
This is an image of an Indian widow who while playing 'Khol' (a traditional Indian drum instrument) was singing 'Kirtan'. ( a devotional type of song) during the days of 'Holi' (a festival of colours during spring) was showered with coloured powders. These Widows, since last two or three hundred years, were used to be dumped in Vrindaban, Varanasi like places of devinity. They lost all lusters of life being married as child to older males and widowed within few years of their marriages. They even didn't have any social respect and many a times few would fall prey to physical exploitation. They simply survived on faith and the minimum needs that they could arrange. Though the scenario presently has changed a lot. Yet they need more moral and physical support.
Kolkata’s Hand-Pulled Rickshaws are British Heritage in India’s Colonial Treasure. It is a mode of human-powered transport by which a runner draws a two-wheeled cart which seats one or two people. The rickshaws are a convenient means of travel, able to traverse winding, narrow city streets. During monsoon season, passengers might be carried out of the carriage, above the flooded streets, to the door of their arrival.

Regarding the subject he is a old man with age of 95. I portrayed his face in Gangasagar Transit Camp. This is a camp where Hindu devotees and Sadhus gather in Kolkata transit camp for their annual trip to Ganga Sagar. The sadhu was portrayed at 4.30pm when the light was little bit dim and soft with the golden effect. He was leaning from one place to other, the intense eyes of the sage made me click the shutter. After clicking I paid him for fooding purpose and get to know more about him.

As per IUCN list the leopard falls under the category “Vulnerable”.In some of the most popular parks of India it has share its space and remain under the shadow of the tiger. Being the apex predator of Jhalna, the leopards here are absolutely fearlessThe dry and arid landscape of this amazing place comes to life during the monsoons.Made this image on an early morning safari to Jhalna .We had certain alarm calls from the peacocks and had positioned our vehicles next to the track. And after waiting for good half an hour she made an awesome appearance from the thick vegetation. The habitat of this place is pretty barren and dry.But all the greens in the background are due to the monsoons. The forest changes from dry yellow to lush green. Its probably the best time to photograph this wonderful predator among the greens.

According to the ancient history, it is said that the Goddess Durga (consort of the Lord Shiva) had thrown her sword in the river (called Assi River) after killing the demon Shumbha-Nishumbha. ... One more Shiva Lingam is here named Asisangameshwar lingam in a small temple of the marble near to the Assi Ghat.Assi Ghat is the southern most ghat in Varanasi. It is located at the confluence of Ganga and Assi rivers. In the evenings, there is an aarti at Assi ghat which attracts many tourists. Pilgrims bathe in the waters at the ghat before paying homage to Lord Shiva. It is the best place to witness Hindu culture and traditions as well as a beautiful sunrise.

The notion that blowing bubbles is a fly’s answer to a Rennie Rapeze breaks down to the ideas that this is to do either with concentrating the fluid via evaporation as bees do, or else oxygenating it. The view that the bubble blowing gets rid of excess water is the most accepted, though some have even speculated that its purpose is to heat the fluid up in the sunshine – a hypothesis since rejected as many flies bubble whether they are catching rays or not.
